ASN Kidney Community Advocacy Day
More than 100 advocates from 16 kidney organizations met in Washington, DC, today to advocate on behalf of kidney patients. The event was hosted by the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), and brought together healthcare professionals in nephrology, nursing, dialysis and transplant care, as well as various patient organizations like ASF. Patients and healthcare professionals visited Congressional offices to discuss the need for increased funding for kidney disease research and innovation, as well as ask for support of a bill that would promote organ donation and protect the rights of living organ donors.
Alport syndrome Research Workshop
About 80 participants are expected at the University of Göttingen, Germany, later this month to attend a global research workshop to discuss strategies and agendas for Alport syndrome research. The workshop will bring together researchers, clinicians, and patient organizations, as well as biotech and pharmaceutical representatives from around the world. These international alliances for a rare disease such as Alport syndrome are critical to advancing better treatments for patients.
